ABOUT PRINCIPAL
Dr. (Mrs.) Neeru Sharma has done M.A. Political Science, M.A. History, M. Phil in Political Science and Ph. D. (Panjab University, Chandigarh). She has 28 years teaching experience in Political Science. Her 30 research papers are published in books, conference proceedings and various reputed journals like Indian Journal of Political Science, Meerut; Journal of Constitutional and Parliamentary Studies, New Delhi; Journal of Himalayan and Central Asian Studies, New Delhi, Third Concept, New Delhi; A Journal of Asia for Democracy and Development, M.P. and Punjab Journal of Politics, GNDU, Amritsar. She has presented papers in four international conferences and 22 national conferences. She has organized three national seminars; one sponsored by UGC New Delhi and two sponsored by ICSSR, Chandigarh. She had been the incharge of Nehru Studies Center and Entry-in-Service UGC Schemes from 2010 to 2012. She is also the life member of Indian Political Science Association (IPSA), Meerut and Indian Social Science Congress (ISSC), Allahabad.
She had been empaneled in the Editorial Board of 'A Journal of Asia for Democracy and Development' (ISSN) Morena (M.P.) in 2011-2012. She was editor of journal, 'Emphasis: A Journal of Social Sciences' (ISSN). She received Dronacharya Award in 2008 by JCT Wing of JCI, Jalandhar, for the 'Best Teacher. She was honoured by Brahman Sabha, Jalandhar Cantt, on Parshuram Jayanti celebrated as 'Women Empowerment Year' in 2009. She has already published five books, one book on 'Swaran Singh in Indian Politics', second on 'Wars and Conflicts: Impact on Environment', third on 16th Lok Sabha Elections and Narendra Modi Government, fourth on 'Politico-Military Conflicts in Afghanistan and Environmental Degradation' and fifth on 'Punjab Assembly Elections-2022'. She has also been editor of three books. In 2018, She joined as Principal in Pandit Mohan Lal S.D. College for Women, Gurdaspur. She had been member of Board of Studies, Academic Council and Sports Committee GNDU, Amritsar. She has delivered various lectures as Resource person on UNO, Women Issues, Emerging World Order and Indian Constitution. As principal she has arranged various national and international seminars, workshops and guest lectures. She has been honoured by Bharat Vikas Parishad in 2020 for outstanding services in the field of education and 'Nation Builder Award' in 2019 and 2021 by Rotary 3070. In June 2024, she has been honoured with 'Best Principal' award by National Edu Trust of India. At present she is actively engaged in arranging student oriented learning events in the college.
