Talent hunt-Khoj Ek Prayas
To provide opportunities to develop and hone the students’ skills, explore talents and abilities besides providing a platform for interaction amongst students and faculty members, a two day programme Talent hunt-Khoj Ek Prayas” was organized under the able guidance of Principal Dr.(Mrs.)Neeru Sharma and supervision of Dean ECA, Mrs. Punita Sehgal and Mrs. Harsha Sharma. The aim of this programme was to channelize energy, makes individuals more responsible, relaxed mind, tapping the potential of the students and to improve their confidence level. Chief Guest Mrs. Asha Mittal and Mrs. Anita Mahajan, Principal Trinity Public School inaugurated the event by jyoti liting ceremony on first day. Mrs. Sarabjeet Kaur Pahra W/O Barindermeet Singh Pahra, MLA, Gurdaspur graced the occasion as the Chief guest on the second day for the valedictory ceremony. She amused to see the talent of students. She remembered her own college days in her address. She congratulated Madam Principal, staff and students for organizing this event.
Orientation Programme
Orientation Programme for freshers was organized by Arts, Science, Computer and Commerce Departments. This program was commanded under the able consideration of the revered Principal Dr. (Mrs.) Neeru Sharma. Aim of the programme is to enlighten the students of all streams with the life history of Pt. Mohan Lal Ji, Governing body, GGDSD Society, Four colleges & their respective Principals, Code of Conduct, Add-On Courses, Examination, Merits, B.Voc Courses, Sports, Various Clubs and Societies, Departmental Faculty & Curriculum & Hostel Facilities. Worthy Principal, Dr. Neeru Sharma addressed students and assured them that every endeavour will be focused on helping them to realize their goals of education. She laid emphasis on exploring their hidden potentials and work for better tomorrow and promising future. The program was concluded with National Anthem.
Diwali Mela
Pt. Mohan Lal S.D. College for Women Gurdaspur organized “Diwali Mela” in the college premises under the stewardship of Worthy Principal Dr.(Mrs.) Neeru Sharma. Principal and staff lit candles & diyas and Diwali pooja was performed. Floral decor was main attraction, interesting activities like tambola and musical chairs were arranged for staff to excite and to have fun. An elaborate special lunch was served to whole teaching and non-teaching staff to add to the festive mood. Principal Dr. Neeru Sharma distributed Diwali gifts and sweets among staff. he wished one and all a joyous, prosperous and blessed occasion and asked the whole staff to spread sparkles of peace and goodwill.
Diwali Celebration in Girls Hostel
The hostellers along with hostels committee incharges and Principal celebrated Diwali Night in the Women hostel of Pt. Mohan Lal S.D.College For Women,Gurdaspur. Madam Principal along with students and incharges lit candles & diyas. An elaborate special dinner was served to whole students to add to the festive mood. Madam Principal also enjoyed the festive vibes with the hostellers. Interesting games were organized to make the evening more tricky and fun! Dr. Neeru gave her best wishes
to students for their entire stay in the hostel and make them feel like home.
Teej Celebration
Punjabi Department and Heritage Club of college celebrated “Teej” festival in college campus in which students were encouraged to celebrate their cultural traditions.
Samriti Divas of Pandit Ji
Pt. Mohan Lal S.D. College for Women, Gurdaspur had its humble beginning in 1995 under the lofty archetypes of revered Late (Dr.) Pt. Mohan Lal Ji, an immortal luminary , a paradigm of perfection, a harbinger and true Karamyogi who served as Former Home, Finance and Education Minister of Punjab. He was a brilliant exponent of laws and scriptures, a dedicated social and political reformer and eminent educationist . These attributes are a true form of dedication from us to pay homage to Pandit Ji, on his 21st Death Anniversary.

Heritage Programme
To set up Five-day programmes, Pt. Mohan Lal S.D. College for Women, Gurdaspur organized Classical dance under the able instructions of Sh. Vippul Ujjwal, Deputy Commissioner, Gurdaspur. On this occasion, Prof. Raj Kumar Sharma, President of Heritage Society, Gurdaspur. was present. Shriyasi Gopi Nath (Bharatanatyam dancer), Devika Aggarwal (Singer) and Manna Behra (Musician) gave their performances. This occasion was organized to aware the students regarding Indian tradition and art.
