05 May 2023 ↑ 3 Day Workshop on 'Income Tax and E-filing'
The Commerce department organized a 3 Day Workshop on 'Income Tax and E-filing'. The resource person of the workshop was Ms. Heena Mahajan, (Chartered Accountant) who is also our Alumnae.
On Day 1, Process of application of PAN card was discussed thoroughly. Before proceeding further she discussed about the official site of income tax department i.e. >eportal gov. in. Then she discussed about Form 15G and 15 H in details. Afterwards the difference between both the forms was shared with examples.
On Day 2, Form 26 AIS (Annual Information Statement ) was discussed. AIS is a comprehensive view of information for a taxpayer displayed in Form 26AS. Taxpayer can provide feedback on information displayed in AIS. It shows both reported value and modified value (i.e. value after considering taxpayer feedback) under each section. At last, e-pay tax (challans) were also discussed.
On day 3, two return forms 24Q and 26Q were discussed.
Form 24Q is used by taxpayers for declaration of the TDS returns of the citizen in detail. The form contains information about the salary and the tax deductions.
