On August 15, 2024, we came together to honor India’s Independence Day with a series of enriching and patriotic activities. Mrs. Daljinder Kaur from the Political Department delivered a powerful speech on our fundamental duties and the true essence of Independence Day, urging all to be informed and responsible citizens. A documentary on Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru’s iconic "Tryst with Destiny" speech, a historic moment that reminded us of the sacrifices made for our freedom was shown to the students. A unique photograph session was held with a flex display, visually representing our fundamental rights, fostering a deeper understanding of our civic duties. The Fine Arts Department transformed our campus with stunning decorations that beautifully captured the spirit of Independence Day, adding to the festive atmosphere. The Cosmetology Department hosted a vibrant Mehandi Competition themed "Independence Day." The creative designs celebrated our national pride. Students from the Music Department led us in a soul-stirring rendition of the National Anthem, filling the atmosphere with patriotic fervor and unity. The Home Science Department of the college celebrated Independence Day with great enthusiasm and patriotism. The students showcased their culinary skills by preparing an array of dishes themed around Independence Day. Each dish reflected the tricolor of the national flag, symbolizing unity and diversity. Tri-Coloured Kheer Poodha, Tri-Coloured Thali, South Indian Plate, Tri-Coloured Kheer, Tri-Coloured Sandwich, Tri Aloo Poori, Tri-Coloured Burfi, Tri-Coloured Halwa etc. were few of the items prepared by students. The NSS club organized a ‘Selfie with Flag’ event where all staff members and students participated enthusiastically. The incharges of the Eco Club and the Botany department marked the day by organizing a plantation drive.
