PG Department of Commerce organised a Regional Seminar on ‘Sustainable
Innovation: Researching for a Better Future' in which 41 students from 12
different colleges participated enthusiastically. SBSS University, Gurdaspur,
Global Group of Institute, Amritsar, Govt. College Gurdaspur, HKMV, Dhariwal;
SSM College, Dinanagar, SL Bawa DAV College, Batala; GNDU Regional Campus,
Gurdaspur; PCMSD College For Women, Jalandhar, PTMLSD College for Girls,
Fatehgarh Churian , Dashmesh Girls College, Mukerian are to name a few.
Students through Powerpoint presentations presented their views on the broad
spectrum of given theme. All the students in a very lucid and well-prepared
manner elaborated the various dimensions of sustainable innovation. The few
topics covered were Social Innovation, Digital transformation, Sustainable
Business Models, Carbon Footprints, Evolution of Mobile Commerce in Digital
Era, Integration of AI in recruitment: A case study, Essence of cryptocurrency,
Bitcoin and its evolution, Global Agenda: 2030, Green Marketing, Exploring the
influence of CRISIL' ESG score on Corporate Financial performance, Contribution
of e- marketing in business development: special reference to Jio company and
Digital Marketing etc. Prof. Dr. Amardeep Kaur Ahluwalia, Associate Dean and
Head, Department of Business Management and Commerce at GNDU Regional
Campus, Gurdaspur, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. She said sustainable
innovation is the act of continuously improving products, processes, and
workforce to create a brighter, more sustainable future—for customers,
employees, and the environment. She guided the participants about 3 Rs i.e.
Reduce, Reuse and Recycle. She appreciated the confidence of the students while
presenting their topics. She laid emphasis on secondary sources of the data in
research papers. She said such seminars are very much helpful in creating
research aptitude amongst students.
